Sir John Suckling

By 18 he had well travelled France and Italy, and part of Germany, and (I think also) Spain.

He returned to England an extraordinary accomplished gentleman, grew famous at court for his ready sparkling witt ; which was envied, and he was (Sir Davedant said) the bull that was baited. He was incomparably ready at reparting, and his witt most sparkling when most set-upon and provoked.

died in 1642.
