Henry the last earl of Cumberland, was an ingeniose gentleman for those times and a great acquaintance of the Lord Chancellor Bacon's; and often wrote to one another, which letters the countess of Corke and Burlington, my lady Thanet's mother, daughter and heir of that family, keeps as reliques.
